* How the Honey Bunny Tree started *
"The Honey Bunny Tree" started when we wanted some pet bunnies, then decided to breed them...
We got 2 Mini Rex Does' (Cherry & Charity) in 2009
And then one Broken-Black, Buck (Peter) in 2011
We had the first litter in 2012, Cherry had six babies and Charity had two.

Everything was going great, and we enjoyed every single baby; We were sad when they had to leave to their new homes, but we knew they would be happy.
A few months later Peter got very sick, we tried everything but he just kept getting worse. I called up a few vets (we didn't have any local vets that would treat him). They said there was nothing they could do for him because he stopped eating. He died within weeks after getting sick.

It was so sad and we miss him everyday.
We stopped breeding Mini Rexes for awhile.
Why?
Well for starters we didn't have a buck. and on top of all that we had a lady that bought, a male & female from us. She emailed us telling us she couldn't take care of them, so we took them under our care. We took both the buck, the doe and her litter of seven. We didn't have very much room for them but we tried our best.
Months later, we started regretting taking the bunnies under our care because we weren't set up for that many bunnies.
Long story short, the 9 bunnies we took under our care and the 2 other bunnies we already had, most of them broke out and had babies.
So from the 11 we already had became 28-31 very fast. We were going through 50lbs of food every week! The bunnies weren't going out as fast as the money was going out,
It was a stressful few years. We thought we would never be out of all that craziness. (I think it was almost 2 years)
After things cooled down, We started up again but this time with a different breed (we don't ever learn lol)
We bought a breeding pair of Dwarf Hotots'
Those babies sold like hot cakes! I had long waiting lists and people wanting them before they were even born!
Angelina had a beautiful litter of 3 in September of 2013
Well I think that just about covers the big main things that happened and made The Honey Bunny Tree what it is today.
We no longer breed rabbits
A big thanks to all the people who bought all our bunnies, and gave them loving homes❤️
We live in Gilman, Wisconsin (see map below)
